Child Poverty Reduction

Our Recent Programs

We go to all corners of the country, to bring friendship, knowledge, compassion and hope for a better future
Child welfare begins before conception. Poor or young pregnant mothers give a vulnerable start for their children. Child marriage is a big problem in South Sudan; it leads to many children being born to mothers who are themselves children. This is a situation partly produced by poverty.
Our research documents the constitutional instruments, legal frameworks and customary practices that could reduce and eventually eradicate child marriage. Welfare, survival and prosperity of children are linked to reproductive health justice, freedom from sexual violence and over all access to justice. We work with pregnant women, young mothers and households in these vulnerable circumstances, to preempt child poverty and address it at birth.
We work with schools and health centers to identify the most vulnerable children, provide them with support to stay in school, assist them to address their health needs, gain knowledge of their family and community circumstances.

Child Poverty Reduction

Our work is informed by first-hand knowledge of the communities we work in. We work in pastoral and farming communities, to promote production, augment local food supplies and conduct research on the state of child welfare and child survival.
