Mission

CPR-SS is a national non-governmental organization based in South Sudan and whose mission is to reduce childhood poverty by investing in the most basic things, children’s health, nutrition, education and safety, so they can grow to be productive members of their communities and their country. We pursue this mission by advocating for increased child welfare budgets at the national and local state levels, push for cash transfers to vulnerable families, campaign to register new births, promote vaccination, keep records and guide them through their life choices. We also aim to promote public awareness so that government, families and communities have informed understanding of the challenges facing the children.

Vision

CPR-SS is motivated by the belief that a vibrant and developed nation can only be achieved by giving its young people a sense of stake in the nation, starting at their formative stages in life, providing them with spaces of safety and knowledge of where to seek help when they need it. We aim to be partners who are responsive and whose guiding principle is justice, rights and fairness. No nation can hope to have a bright future without investing in its children.

Why CPR-SS

We do not have a lot of donors yet, but we aim to be a reputable agency, one that is financially responsible and accountable. We have a small group of dedicated staff who have worked in other aid settings and know how to stretch the dollar to provide more value than the dollar’s worth. Our staff are not paid a lot, our running costs are very low, and our offices and staff residences are very modest. The uniqueness of CPR lies in its philosophy of linking childhood poverty to lack of access to quality education, healthcare, nutrition, clean water and sanitation. Addressing obstacles in these areas is key to poverty reduction and economic empowerment of families with vulnerable children and of the children themselves as they grow into adulthood. The founder of CPR is a seasoned social scientist with a lot expertise in emergency response, research and analysis, grant writing and reporting and evaluation.
